“Vermont Station” is approximately 34km west from Barraba by road. Take the Trevallyn Road and head west for approx 29km, turn left onto Riverstone Road. Continue for approximately 5km and you will arrive at the boundary gate. In 500m you will arrive at your destination, Vermont Homestead.

Bush valley escape

As you are journeying out to “Vermont” after approx 26km on the Trevallyn Road you will reach the top of the Nandewar Range. You will be immediately captivated by the magnificent beauty of the Horton Valley below. You descend into this valley for 3km and come to crossroads prior to the Horton River. Turn left onto Riverstone Road, where you will soon pass a small wooden church on your right. Continue on through “Arrowfield” then “Riverstone” before finally entering “Vermont”. The drive into “Vermont” is through breathtaking scenery which is typical of the Western Slopes of the New England Ranges. We believe we are fortunate to have some of the best scenery around.

On one boundary, “Vermont” has the Horton River which constantly flows and also has numerous creeks and gullies springfed and flowing into the Horton River. As you enter the property, you come through a boundary that goes up from the valley floor to the top of the ranges whereby the rest of the boundary is dominated by plateau tops until it reaches the gorge country to the south western boundary coming onto the Horton River. The spectacular Horton Falls are a stone’s throw away and the beautiful Kaputar National Park is very close as well. “Vermont” sits very handy to some of Australia’s incredible bush and features. The fauna and flora are also something to behold.
